Government Consumer Product Safety Commission Here you'll find information about product recalls and other matters of concern regarding the public's safety. Economic Statistics Look for links to statistics in eight categories on this page originating at the White House's Web site. You will find them in the center of the page. Environmental Protection Agency This page offers searches of all Web-based files on the Environmental Protection Agency's Public Access Server. Besides a search engine, a link is available to let you browse subject categories. Other links take you to various resources related to EPA activities. FedStats An austere page awaits you here. You'll find a simple-looking search box and a link titled "Topic links - A to Z." For some reason, when you click on the latter, it brings up a page of search tips. However, if you click on "Topic links - A to Z" at the top of that page, you'll go to a long list of topics that can be clicked on to retrieve information. FedWorld This multi-engine site gives you five entries into government databases. It includes the FedWorld Information Network, US Government Reports, General Information Services (with 11 sources from which to choose), FedWorld Hosted Web Sites (with 16 sources) and an entry point from which you can search other US government information servers. The site also provides links to other federal government resources. Library of Congress This site offers access to five broad areas. "American Memory" provides information about the history of the United States. "THOMAS" is the same legislative site listed below. "Exhibitions" provides information about material that has been exhibited in the physical Library of Congress. "Library services" takes you to online tools used and/or recommended by LC officials. "Research tools" provides access to a number of databases. Presidents of the United States From George Washington to George W. Bush, you'll find information about all US presidents here. Material available includes information about presidents' wives and children. Project Vote Smart This site tracks the performance of political leaders. In addition, you can find the names of representatives for any given area by entering its ZIP Code in a search engine. State & County Quick Facts This site gives "quick, easy access to facts about people, business and geography" with data from the U.S. Census Bureau. USA.Gov This is one of the most comprehensive Web sites for information about the federal government. |
